RIGS full-service fly shop was established in 2001 to offer guests genuine customer service, extensive fly fishing products and industry knowledge from seasoned guides. Located in the small town of Ridgway, Colorado, our goal is to provide a refreshing approach to customer service, much like the region we live, work, and fish in. Offering friendly, individualized attention each step of the way. We hire passionate guides and staff who are devoted to sharing their knowledge and love of fishing with others. We believe in sustainable communities and fighting to protect river health and recreational resources in our region, so we all can enjoy these spectacular resources for years to come. In our own lives, we’ve discovered how essential time in nature is; giving respite from the fast-paced world we live in. Ouray to RIGS – 10 minutes
From Ouray, Colorado, take HWY 550 North for 9 miles. This brings you to Ridgway, Colorado. At the traffic light (the only one in Ouray County), turn left onto HWY 62. HWY 62 is also named Sherman Street within Ridgway. Go over the bridge and past Town Park by 6 blocks. We are on the corner of Amelia and Sherman St in the Old School House Building on the right.
Montrose to RIGS – 30 minutes
From Montrose, Colorado, take HWY 550 South for 26 miles. This brings you to Ridgway, Colorado. At the traffic light (the only one in Ouray County), turn right onto HWY 62. HWY 62 is also named Sherman Street within Ridgway. Go over the bridge and past Town Park by 6 blocks. We are on the corner of Amelia and Sherman St in the Old School House Building on the right.
Telluride to RIGS – 45 minutes
From Telluride, Colorado, take HWY 145 Northwest for 17 miles to the intersection of HWY 145 and HWY 62. At the T, turn right (Northeast), and follow HWY 62 for 22 miles. This brings you to Ridgway, Colorado. HWY 62 is also named Sherman Street within Ridgway. We are the first left as you come down the hill into the town of Ridgway. We are on the corner of Amelia and Sherman St in the Old School House Building on the left. If you go past Town Park, you’ve gone 6 blocks too far.

While we specialize in fly fishing gear and guided trips, we also offer other services including: Walk Wade Guide Course to become a Fly Fishing Guide & State of Colorado Float Fishing Guide Certification Course, as well as Destination Fly Fishing Trips to exotic saltwater fly fishing destinations.
Hunting and Fishing Licenses are available at RIGS Fly Shop.
However, we encourage you to purchase DOW Licenses online prior to your trip to save time and hassle. When purchasing a Division of Wildlife License, be prepared that the State requires you to give us your driver’s license or id, social security number, address, height, weight, and phone number to issue any license.
