Oros Tech Pack
The Oros tech pack includes three strike indicator colors glow-in-the-dark, black/anti-glare and hi-visibility chartreuse.
Three strike indicators assembled to our original low-impact packaging made of Forest Stewardship Council certified paper. It's not the cheapest packaging option, but its better for the forests our waters run through.
Colors:
Black/Anit-glare
Black strike indicators provide more contrast and are easier to see than other colors in highly reflective lighting situations. We've found that black indicators work well when the sun is lower on the horizon or under overcast skies that are reflecting on the water. For situations where the indicator is moving from water with a dark refection into an area with high glare we recommend putting two indicators on the line, one black and one chartreuse or white. The white or chartreuse indicator is easy to see in the dark area and the black indicator is easier to see in the high glare area. For example, we pared a medium black indicator with a small chartreuse indicator.
Glow-in-the-dark
Glow-in-the-dark strike indicators give you the option to extend your time on the water. Glow-in-the-dark strike indicators help you see strikes better in the arly morning evening and into the night. We have nymphed and dead drifted streamers under glow-in-the-dark indicators with great success.
Chartreuse
Chartreuse is a great alternative to white. It is easier to see in a riffle or foamy conditions. We combine chartreuse with other colors depending on the lighting conditions. In lighting conditions with high glare and dark shadows or reflections in the same run we will put on two strike indicators, one chartreuse and one black for better visibility
Oros = Less pain
Oros strike indicators eliminate common indicator pain points. There are no small parts to fumble and lose. It's streamlined design is centered on the line for balanced casting. There is no exposed fastening hardware or posts sticking out to create drag or tangle line.
The Soft-Lock™ design advantage
Oros strike indicators feature patented Soft-Lock™ technology. The design encloses fastening hardware inside of two molded soft foam hemispheres. When closed, the hardware holds the line, while the foam hemispheres compress creating friction between the two hemispheres that keeps them from disengaging. Over-sized threads make securing it to the line effortless.
Wet indicators are easier to use
Oros indicators are easier to grip and tighten down when they are wet. Water on the indicator creates more friction between your skin and the indicator. Water between the two hemispheres reduces friction between the two halves by up to 35%, making it easier to keep line in place.
