OUR APPROACH
Focus on fisheries we know well, and not overwhelm with out-of-date reporting on sections we don’t experience regularly. If you see other reports on locations with past dates from or from far away lands, that’s not “current conditions”. Rather, our goal is help support fly anglers through the nuances of exploration, while providing “reel time” beta to make sound decisions on the water. Have fun out there, be safe and enjoy!

COLORADO’S WESTERN SLOPE RIVERS, STREAMS & LAKES
Our regional fly fishing knowledge expands well beyond the rivers in our fish reports but choose to only report on rivers we fish regularly. Visiting our fly shop in person is the best way to explore further out regional fishing locations like high country alpine stream fishing around Silverton, Ouray and Telluride Colorado, The Upper Gunnison River Basin, Lake Fork of the Gunnison River and the Dolores River. In addition to all that moving water, the region is abundant in high country lakes and reservoirs like Ridgway Reservoir, Blue Mesa, Silver Jack, Buckhorn, Miramonte, Blue Lakes, Trout Lake, Woods Lake – not to mention the incredible canyon reservoirs and releases of Black Canyon National Park and Curecanti National Recreation Area, all teaming with trout.
Fishing Licenses are available at RIGS Fly Shop or you can purchase them online or in person at a Colorado Division of Wildlife License office. The State requires your driver’s license, physical details (height, weight, hair color, eye color) social security number, mailing address, and phone number.
