Explore 10 miles of pristine Gold Medal Waters including a RIGS-exclusive 2-mile stretch of Private Property on Angell Canyon Ranch (across from Pleasure Park & Gunnison Forks) within the Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area is included in the price of your trip! This secluded historic ranch rests on a spectacularly scenic bend in the river, offering anglers a chance to separate from the crowds (anchor while drifting or walk wading) and fish the epic runs, pockets, and pools of the world-famous Gunnison River.

Choose from over 6 miles of Gold Medal quality waters with convenient access, allowing you and your guide to explore miles of pristine trout-laden waters. Spring conditions offer epic Blue Wing Olive (BWO) hatches, while the can’t miss “Stone Fly Hatch” dominates May and June. As temperatures rise, walk wading slows until early fall to enjoy the shores of the Gunnison River for Caddis Flies, PMD’s, Yellow Sallies, Grasshopper & other terrestrials. Our Two Day Overnight Gunnison Gorge NCA waters are only a little over an hour from our fly shop; these are some of our home waters that will expand your understanding of the region and what fishing in SW Colorado is all about. The Gunnison River has a long season for fishing and is available year-round. Discuss with our reservation staff when is the best time to go.
On the overnight Gunnison River trip, hiking is necessary to truly enjoy this amazing resource. Let our staff know what type of hiking you are interested in. Don’t want to hike but want to see the Lower Gunnison River on an overnight trip? Look at our 2-Day Overnight Drift Boat Trip. Camping and fishing in this grand desert canyon requires more physical activity than others trips like the Drift Boat Trip but has inner canyon camping rewards. Flies, Tackle & Gear
Our trips are all inclusive. Whether you have gear, are traveling lite or are new to the sport we take care of fishing equipment needs. We provide rod/reel and waders/boots or wading socks/boots depending on the weather. Our guides also provide access to their personal arsenal of hand-selected tools of the trade including site-specific flies, leader/tippet, nipper/forceps, floatant, indicators, and more. However, if you would like to bring any of your own gear, please do! The guide is happy to help you get to know your gear better.
* The only things not included are your Colorado Fishing license and Guide Gratuity.
Take the Worry Out of Planning
We take care of transportation to and from the Fly Shop to the River. Amenities for Comfort with Big Agnes Tents, Sleeping Pads, Pillow, Cots to keep you comfortable while you sleep. All meals from Lunch the first day of the trip, Dinner, Breakfast and Lunch the second day. Plus snacks and Drinks. The only thing not included is Alcohol. Have additional needs? Arrange all the details with our reservations staff in advance.
In order to legally fish in the State of Colorado, anyone 16 years or older must possess a valid Colorado State Fishing License. The cost of the fishing license is not included in trip prices. Licenses can be purchased for periods of one day or more. We encourage you to purchase Fishing & Hunting Licenses Online prior to your trip.
