So what is exciting about the new Tenkara USA rods you ask? Triple-zoom and ultralight! Whether you’re an experienced tenkara angler or just about to give tenkara a try, Tenkara USA wanted to give you the best possible tenkara rod anywhere. With several years of design experience under their belt and feedback from users, Tenkara USA designed the Sato and Rhodo tenkara rods with you in mind.
The Sato™ tenkara rod is named after Mr. Ernest Satow, an avid mountaineer who was the first person to make a written record of tenkara. It was designed to be fished at either of 3 lengths: 330-360-390cm $215
The Rhodo™ is a rod that can be fished very short when things get tight and rhododendron surround you, or longer when the stream opens up. Designed to be fished at either of 3 lengths: 270/297/320cm $215
Even more exciting is the new Keep your Plug system by Tenkara USA. One thing we have all struggled with is keeping track of the plug or should we say not losing the plug, with their new system it becomes simple, all you have to remember is take it from one part of the rod and put it in another part! Simple! Here is what Tenkara USA had to say about their new system.
Keep your Plug™
“After hearing that no one has ever been able to keep their tenkara rod plug for longer than a year we decided we should find a solution for you to never lose your plug again. We designed the “Keep your plug”™* system (patent pending). Although a very simple solution, this is a new feature available on the Sato and Rhodo rod models. Next time you go fishing, remove the plug from the top end of your rod and insert it into the hole at the bottom of your rod.”
