Cimarron/Uncompahgre high country tenkara fly fishing!
I’m pleased to be back at RIGS for another summer season as a tenkara guide! This year’s trips will be better than ever!
Something I really enjoy about guiding tenkara trips for RIGS is their commitment to tenkara specifically and to small streams and high country in general. The three forks of the Cimarron River, as well as other high, wild streams in the area, are the type of water where this ancient Japanese method of fly fishing can really shine. These streams are saturated with pocket water and small runs. The simplicity that tenkara offers, with its long rod and short line system is perfect for targeting the type of water the Cimarron River Forks and Uncompahgre headwaters offer.
This season we will continue to offer both full-day and multi-day fly fishing trips in the high country. Our multi-day trips will include a well-outfitted backcountry camp, all meals, and around-the-clock guiding. I really consider our multi-day trips to be the crown jewel of our offerings. They give you the most time to soak in the stunning landscape and cover as much water as you want.
If you’re looking for an exciting backcountry fly fishing experience in beautiful high country, these trips are for you!
