FLOWS IN UNCOMPAHGRE RIVER BELOW RIDGWAY DAM
The Tri-County Water Conservancy District will be conducting tests on the outlet piping at Ridgway Dam on May 1, 2012. Beginning at approximately 9:00 am, releases from Ridgway Dam will be gradually increased to accommodate the testing procedures. Flows in the Uncompahgre River immediately downstream of the Dam could reach 1200 cubic feet per second. Higher flows should be expected along the entire reach of the River to its confluence with the Gunnison River near Delta. Testing should conclude around Noon and flows will then return to normal for this time of year. Anyone planning to use the Uncompahgre River corridor during the morning of May 1, 2012 is encouraged to wait until late afternoon as water levels could remain high for most of the day.
